Wer, Wie, Was/What the hell...?/IL MANIFESTO
Mohltied! Ich klopf mal... Vielleicht mal 'n paar Sachen vorneweg:
Was hier zu finden sein wird: Krimskrams über Musik, Politik, Fußball, mein Leben in Sydney, und was mir sonst noch so einfällt. Und zwar nicht unbedingt realitätsgetreu (dazu mehr weiter unten) - wer Australienporno will, kann ja Blacky Fuchsberger gucken.
Was es hier nicht gibt: Reisetips, Einkaufstips, Autokauftips, Billigflugpreisetips, blöde Biervergleiche, lustige Geschichtchen vom Linksverkehr und endlose Diskussionen, ob Australien besser sei als Deutschland oder andersrum (wer das will, soll hier reinschauen - da wird ab und zu sowas geboten...)
Das Ganze ist mehr oder weniger für Freunde und Familie gedacht, aber falls sich jemand hierher verirrt hat und mich nicht kennt (und ganz offensichtlich viel zu viel Zeit hat...): Willkommen! Ursprünglich aus Hamburg, seit Februar 1999 in Sydney. Beiträge hier sind ausschliesslich von mir (sydneysnider), so wie's die Zeit zulässt, und bunt gemischt wird's auch - Journalistisches, Besinnungsaufsatzartiges, Polemiken, Kurzgeschichten... Das wird man schon auseinanderhalten können, nä? Meistenteils wohl in Deutsch, aber das eine oder andere wird wohl auf Englisch sein, je nach Lust und Laune. Im Moment hab ich so das Gefühl, daß die englischen Beiträge etwas, sagen wir mal, härter ausfallen könnten, aber man wird sehen.
Denn man tau - viel Spaß und danke für's Vorbeischauen! Machst Du die Tür zu beim Rausgehen?

and welcome to what undoubtedly is another blog the world doesn't need. Oh well... thought I'd give youse a few pointers as to what, as it is, it is:
This blog is written mainly for family and friends but if someone happens to crash in and doesn't know me: welcome! I'm originally from Hamburg, Germany but have been living in Sydney since February 1999. And that's all you're going to get in terms of biographical information, I'm afraid.
Unfortunately for all you English speakers out there, this will mainly be in German I reckon (don't know yet), but I'm sure that there'll be the occasional English bit in it. See how I feel. At the moment I've got the feeling that the English language posts might be a bit darker and more venomous but we'll see if it turns into Doktorrrrr Tjekill and Mr Hyde.
It'll consist mostly of my interesting (yawn...) observations about, well, my life in Sydney, music, politics and, of course, football (this is FOOTBALL - a game where you kick a BALL with your FOOT. As opposed to carrying an OVAL in your HAND. You need to clarify these things in Sydney.)
Finally: the title. Yes, guilty - bad pun. Still, consider yourselves lucky I didn't call it "From the Snidelines" or "Snidewinder" or summat.

UPDATE 02/06/2006: OK, nach 3 Jahren wird's Zeit für eine Pause unbestimmter Länge. Nach 7 1/2 Jahren Australien ziehe ich wieder nach Hamburg und hab' for the foreseeable erstmal anderes um die Ohren. Vielleicht werd' ich das hier irgendwann mal wieder vom Regal holen, vielleicht nicht... mal sehen. Danke fürs Lesen!
It's time for me to go on an indefinite hiatus with the old Snider here. I'm moving back to my hometown of Hamburg next week and will have neither time nor inclination to do any blogging for the foreseeable. Maybe I'll dust this off at some stage in the future, who knows. For the time being, I might see youse in the real world, old school styleee. Thanks for reading!
